I think you might need to make sure khalmnpr.exe and maybe setpoint.exe aren't running while you do this. When setpoint loses your settings, you can then copy your configuration back. The half-assed solution is to backup the XML files in your directoryĬ:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Logitech On this windwos install, it used to happen intermittantly, but now it is happening at every boot up. All my customized features would be lost. But then it started happening at every reboot. On my prev windows install things were fine for a while. The loss of settings upon reboot is still happening though. Upgrading to 3.01 (or maybe it was the resinstall I did) fixed it and it hasn't been back since. Pressing the base station's connect button was unnecessary. The keyboard tab would instantly reappear. The problem for the keyboard not appearing was easily fixed by just presssing the connect button on the underside of the keyboard. Strange too, since the keyboard is plugged in via PS/2 port. I have the exact same problem as dreamsindigital and agb_mike.Īlso, I have experienced the problem where my keyboard tab would not appear in the settings manager. Do you still have teh problem dreams? Edited Februby AGB_Mike I'm going to test the hardware on another machine. So I restarted again, just to be sure, and  yep you guessed it, back to the defaults. Getting quite excited here, thinking I'd narrowed it down to the culprit - Steam.Īdded Steam to startup, restarted - and it was still fine!! Changed some settings in Setpoint and restarted thinking now thats gonna bugger it up now for sure, but no!! It still remembered the settings. Changed some settings in Setpoint, and restarted, and still fine. Then added Sygate Firewall to startup, restarted, still fine. Changed some settings in Setpoint, and restarted, and fine.Īdded Kaspersky AV to startup, restarted, still fine. So I gathered it must be a conflict with some other software.so i removed everything from startup again, restarted, changed settings, got it working fine, and then went on to troubleshoot.Īded msn to the startup, restarted, and fine. Re-enabled all startup programs and services, restarted, and fine! Then changed some settings in Setpoint, restarted, and it returned to defaults! So I re-enabled the system.ini and win.ini at startup, restarted, and still worked fine. no system.ini, no win.ini, no startup programs, no user services, customised Setpoint, restarted, and fine - it remembered everything. I did another Windows reinstall this weekend, and still have the same problem. Logitech's support just keeps saying reinstall the setpoint software  I tell them I've done that and that Ive even reinstalled the OS and still have the same problem, then they say they can't resolve the issue by email and try to make you phone their premium rate support line. I've wasted hours upon hours trying to figure out the cause. ![]() I think maybe the disappearance of the keyboard tab in SetPoint may be occurring after going into to Standby or Hibernation, but haven't confirmed that.Wow, after days of searching I've finally found someone with the same problem as me! ( I have MX5000) Only for me it forgets the settings after every restart - all the settings, the mouse buttons, the mouse speed, the LCD name and etc etc. I can get SetPoint back to normal by restarting but that's not a nice solution since I have to close apps to restart. I think I this may be an unsolvable problem. If not that, then it must be a conflict with some other app. I believe this may be due to a conflict between that version of SetPoint and Norton Anti-Virus. I have downloaded and tried using the latest version but can't use it because the mouse freezes immediately after startup. I'm using the version of SetPoint that came with the LX500 package. I can tell this has happened without opening SetPoint because the functionality of Enhanced Keys disappears in other words, the keyboard is acting the same as it would without having SetPoint installed. It does show both tabs after a fresh startup, but sometimes the tab for keyboard just disappears from the SetPoint screen after the computer has been running for maybe a few hours. SetPoint should show me tabs for Keyboard and Mouse, where I can set certain settings for each. I have the SetPoint software that came with it installed. I started using a Logitech LX500 cordless keyboard/mouse combo last December.
